The announcement was made this week during the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum members meeting here.
The two bodies will work together to define the next generation of Web specifications that will enable wireless devices to support access to the World Wide Web. Included in these specifications will be testing and implementation processes, as well as promotion of these new specifications to the wireless industry
