Sydney, Australia -- The Wireless Application Protocol Forum and the World Wide Web Consortium Wednesday revealed a formal working relationship to define and promote wireless devices and the World Wide Web.

The announcement was made this week during the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum members meeting here.

The two bodies will work together to define the next generation of Web specifications that will enable wireless devices to support access to the World Wide Web. Included in these specifications will be testing and implementation processes, as well as promotion of these new specifications to the wireless industry
