Itochu Techno Science, Japan's Leading Computer Distributor, Invests in Nettech Systems
Posted: 15-Dec-1999 [Source: PRNewswire]

["Provides Nettech With Strong Partnership and Distribution Channel Into One of the World's Most Advanced Wireless Markets." ]

PRINCETON, N.J. -- "Nettech Systems, Inc., the leading provider of mobile middleware, today announced that Itochu Techno Science (CTC), Japan's leading distributor of state-of-the-art computer systems, has made a financial investment in the company. Nettech also announced it has acquired the assets of MobileWare, a CTC division that offers innovative mobile middleware offerings that complement its own. Financial details of the two transactions were not disclosed.

"The announcements follow fewer than three months after Nettech and CTC announced that CTC would exclusively distribute Nettech's wireless middleware in Japan, one of the world's most advanced wireless markets. Together, these announcements represent a strong partnership through which Nettech will develop and market products for the Japanese market. Nettech's success in Japan will enable it to deliver superior products for the emerging United States market.

"Today's announcements strengthen our market position and cement a strong relationship with CTC that originated when CTC first approached us about distributing our products in Japan," said Boris Fridman, CEO of Nettech Systems. "With CTC's strong endorsement, we are now well positioned for success in the Japanese wireless market, which is already years ahead of the U.S."

"In addition," Fridman noted, "the acquisition enables Nettech to leverage MobileWare's knowledgeable development staff and incorporate their complementary technologies into future product offerings. The resulting efforts will help round out a product vision in which advanced agent-based services drive the mobile communications explosion."

"Nettech middleware enables anytime, anywhere-mobile access to Internet and enterprise data from any device. Its products are used by enterprise developers, software vendors, and Internet service providers to quickly and easily develop and deploy mobile data applications and services.
