Posted: 20-Dec-1999 [Source: PRNewswire]

[New Program to Provide WAP Developers with the Resources Required to Design, Implement, and Test Services and Applications for Mass-Market, WAP-Enabled Phones.]

OWINGS MILLS, Md -- "Infinite Technologies announces the WAPlite Developer Program in support of their latest product, the WAPlite Corporate WAP Server. This program will provide an affordable, useable platform and discussion forum for developers of WAP-enabled Internet and Intranet based applications and content. The WAPlite Developers Program is open to anyone, and includes an inexpensive developer version of the software as well as unlimited access to the WAPlite Developers Discussion Forum.

"WAPlite, the first commercially available WAP server, is a software product that enables companies to provide mobile access to electronic mail and other services available on the Internet and private Intranets as well as other information systems. The WAPlite server is a powerful WAP gateway supporting WAP v1.1 applications and content. The initial version supports the recently released Nokia 7110, Ericsson MC218, Motorola Timeport, with other devices to follow.

"WAPlite is an excellent test platform for our new WAP products," said Jorgen Bladh, CEO of AcadeMedia in Stockholm, Sweden. "The performance and ease of use have given us the freedom to focus on providing quality WAP applications."

"We have our entire development staff working with WAPlite," said Gabriel Troostwijk, CEO of Twigger International in Amsterdam, Netherlands. "Interoperability is critical to our development because it is what our customers are asking for. WAPlite allows us to create and test applications with phones and devices from a variety of manufacturers."
