Dubai -- AME Info, the Middle East's leading on-line business directory, is the first in the region and only the second in the world, to be WAP enabled allowing business executives access to a range of information and services via a mobile phone.

Although no Middle Eastern telecommunications provider currently offers a gateway to WAP services, the AME Info site can be accessed while business executives are in Europe, Scandinavia or the United States.

It will even allow "reverse look-up", where a caller's number can be identified and full details of the caller be provided", added Lovgreen.

The AME Info database site is 100 per cent compliant with the world-wide WML (Wireless Mark-up Language) standard, which uses the WAP Browser 1.1 as well as the hdml standard supporting 3.0 UP browsers. Both are currently only available on the latest mobile telephones.
