[WebDynamite is developing a telnet client for WAP enabled phones and plans to demonstrate at ExpoNet in Vienna.]
Linz, Austria -- "WebDynamite is the first company that has developed a Telnet client for WAP mobiles. This software allows remote access and administration of Unix boxes, routers and other Telnet servers without a notebook or PDA.
"The Telnet client was made for technicians like system administrators, who have worldwide access to their machines now. There is no longer the need for travelling with a notebook to administer the Unix boxes in their own local area network. The text based Telnet protocol is ideal for WAP technology. To avoid unneccessary typing, the software allows server based storing of session information like login data for different hosts. Furthermore, often used commands can be stored in a database and thus are very handy to be used on the mobile phone.
"The telnet client is in late beta testing now. WebDynamite will present the client at the Exponet in Vienna (15.-17.2.2000), where WebDynamite is located at booth 1/hall 2 together with HP and GE Capital ITS. Besides the well known WAP mail solution WAPmachine the telnet client will be presented at the Exponet first. At the same time, a small, free version of the telnet client will be placed on the WebDynamite homepage.
