CTIA: Ericsson previews CDMA handset at Wireless 2000

[CTIA becomes the venue for Ericsson's launch of its first WAP enabled CDMA phone, the model A1228c.]

New Orleans -- "Gearing up to introduce an unprecedented number of phones and accessories for all mobile standards, Ericsson Mobile Phones is highlighting its 2000 product portfolio, including two new WAP-enabled phones and a variety of cutting-edge add-on gadgets, at CTIA's Wireless 2000.

"At the show, Ericsson is announcing its first CDMA phone, the A1228c, which features a WAP browser for accessing the latest mobile Internet services. Ericsson is also showing the palm-sized, power-packed and WAP-enabled A2218z for GSM systems. The A2218z has an integrated lithium ion battery for unparalleled talk/standby performance, plus an extra-wide LCD screen and an array of advanced features.
