[Alliance Systems' acquisition of Falcon Technology accelerates development of infrastructure solutions.]
Dallas -- Alliance Systems completed the acquisition of Falcon Technology Group, a leader in telecommunications software for the Internet, Wireless and Intelligent Networks. Falcon's solutions consist primarily of communications software for Signaling System #7 (SS7) networks.
SS7 networks are a vital link that enables new Internet, voice, data, and multimedia applications to run across convergent telephony and data network infrastructures. SS7 technology is the key that makes intelligent network (IN) services available to the traditional telephony world. SS7 is also helping interface a new generation of wireless appliances, such as web-enabled cell phones and PDAs, to communicate between the wireless network and the Internet.
"Our acquisition of Falcon continues our drive to deliver advanced solutions for the Internet," said Jonathan Shapiro, CEO of Alliance Systems. "The rapid pace of network convergence among wireless networks, traditional networks, and the Internet has created opportunities for new communication solutions. Falcon's technology and experienced management team provide us with a strong leadership position in the emerging new wireless communications market"
Don Mounday, President of Falcon said, "The rapid growth of wireless devices and the acceptance of new communications standards, such as Wireless Application Protocol (WAP), accelerate the development of communication solutions for a new generation of wireless devices that will easily access and interact with the Internet."
