Integrated Voice and Data Browser
Posted: 08-Aug-2000 [Source: bSmart press release]

Dublin -- bSmart.to Technologies Inc has today announced the launch of the bSmart.to MasterBrowser, the world's first browser with integrated two-way voice and data functionality, and with the capability of operating across multiple protocols, networks, operating systems and hardware platforms, in both wireless and wired environments.

The bSmart.to MasterBrowser will initially be launched as the core delivery platform for bSmart.to Markets unique services, which facilitate the information and communication requirements of financial markets professionals and their clients, in an increasingly mobile world.

bSmart.to Markets enables its clients to create micro-selections of market prices, information and news through its strategic distribution agreements with content providers such as Standard & Poors Comstock, Dow Jones Newswires, AFX and Tullett Tokyo and Liberty, and then to further micro-select how they wish it to be delivered.

Currently bSmart.to Markets' delivery channels are its patented wireless hybrid SMS/datacall browser, automated voice gateway, SMS, e-mail, WAP and extranet gateways.

The bSmart.to MasterBrowser will enable bSmart.to clients to have one central site which can deliver to, and be accessed by them, through voice and data, for all of their information and communication requirements.

"The bSmart.to MasterBrowser will give us a massive competitive advantage compared with 'old world' financial content platforms, servicing the demanding requests of financial markets professionals and their clients in an increasingly mobile environment" said Phillip Atkinson, President of bSmart.to Markets.

"Financial markets professionals and their clients need the information and communication they want, when they want it, wherever they may be, delivered and accessed in the most convenient and effective way for them. Voice and data are simply two ways of accessing and receiving the same information."

The bSmart.to MasterBrowser's two way voice gateway uses Buytel Ltd's patented Voicevault technology to which it has an exclusive licence for wireless delivery.

A key element of the Voicevault technology is voice verification, which enables information and communication only to be delivered to, and accessed by an individual whose voice signature has been verified.

"We are delighted with our strategic partnership with bSmart.to in delivering the world's first integrated voice and data browser said Patrick Keaney, CEO of Buytel.

"Once bSmart.to Markets has rolled out their unique offering using the bSmart.to MasterBrowser, we will be working closely with bSmart.to Technologies to establish the MasterBrowser as the only effective way of accessing and delivering, on an on-demand and alert basis, one set of mission-critical information and communication through both voice and data channels."
