About ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup
The ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup component transmits all of the necessary WAP parameters to Nokia and Ericsson WAP mobile phones. The component transmits these parameters using an attached Nokia or Ericsson GSM mobile phone or a Nokia GSM PCMCIA card. The parameters are transmitted using the WAP OTA ("Over The Air") standard.
With ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup, companies can offer their customers direct access to their WAP content using an industry standard protocol. Customer confusion over WAP setup parameters are eliminated or greatly reduced with this product.
The ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup component is built using Microsoft's DCOM technology and can be used on any Windows NT or Windows 2000 platform. The component is compatible with most popular Windows programming languages including Visual Basic, C++, J++, and Active Server Pages (ASP). Sample programming code is included with the product.
Further products in the ThunderWAP(tm) series will follow the ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup component 1.0 release. These products will add WAP capabilities to popular web servers running on several computer platforms.
ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup component version 1.0 is available in two versions. The Demo version is available free of charge and is fully functional for development and testing. The Demo version is converted to the Release version by an unlock code available for purchase on the mi4e web site. The purchase price is $499.00. A 12-month upgrade subscription is also available at time of purchase for $299.00. The upgrade subscription includes any new component releases during the 12-month subscription period.
The ThunderWAP(tm) OTA Setup component 1.0 requires Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000. An Ericsson R320s or Nokia 7110 GSM mobile phone and serial cable or a Nokia Card Phone 2.0 PCMCIA GSM card are also required to transmit the OTA setup messages.
