Omron, Bandai to Cooperate in Agent Technology for Mobile Devices

Tokyo -- "Omron Corp., Omron Software Corp. and Bandai Co., Ltd. announced that they will launch a new business together to implement agent-oriented technology on portable terminals, including mobile phones.

"They are planning to develop and offer contents delivery services using Omron's Java-based agent software called JUMON. It will start offering four or five kinds of entertainment contents services for IMT-2000 compliant mobile phones with Java capability in the spring of 2001, and gradually expand the services to be available on Palm OS-installed terminals, set-top boxes or PCs.
