Wireless Information Kiosk Prototype

[Using wireless transmission, this music and information kiosk concept is supported by 12 Japanese companies.]

Tokyo -- "Kobe Steel Ltd. exhibited prototype models of a wireless information kiosk and a dedicated portable music player compatible with the kiosk at the SolidAudio Project booth at World PC Expo 2000.

"The wireless information kiosk can download music data wirelessly into the portable music player.

"SolidAudio is an Internet-based music delivery format promoted mainly by the NTT group and Kobe Steel. A total of 12 companies, including Hitachi Maxell Ltd. and Yamaha Corp., which agree with the project, had exhibitions related to Internet-based music delivery at the SolidAudio Project booth.
