Jataayu Software(P)Ltd, a subsidiary of Integra Micro Systems has announced the release of jBrowser/WinCE-an independent WML WinCE browser, which is the first to be launched ever by an Indian company.
jBrowser, which is the country's first independent WAP browser on WinCE is a WAP 1.1 compliant and a compact (occupying about 100kb space ) browser. A software developer can take advantage of its APIs (Application Programming Interface) to develop efficient applications on WinCE environment.
Earlier on, Jataayu had launched the country's first WAP browser supporting the Palm Operating System. The Palm Browser provides access to WML content on the PalmOS based devices and enable users to build applications ranging including Internet, e-mail, messaging, mobile banking, stock trading and other mobile commerce services. It was the first browser to offer WTLS (Wireless Transport Layer Security) on the PalmOS.
According to Mr. Mahesh Jain, Managing Director of Jataayu Software (P)Ltd, "With the release of the WinCE browser, we have taken another significant step towards fulfilling our vision-which is making Information availabilty-anytime, anywhere a reality. Jataayu Software, has introduced ZAP2 WAP product and an automatic HTML to WML conversion service. ZAP2WAP makes an analysis of the various components of a website that has to be converted to WML.The conversion, that takes place, thereafter will result in optimised content generation that can be browsed through a mobile device.

To provide advanced encryption for the Jataayu WAP-Server and Browsers, Jataayu has partnered with Certicom, the Canada-based encryption technology provider.Jataayu also provides software for secured SMS(Short Messaging Services).
More than 75% of WAP requests coming from mobile users are being processed by Jataayu gateway software installed at leading service providers in India.According to Mr.Jain, "Jataayu WAP gateway software may process more than 50% of stock trading and financial transactions in the country, once these services come into existence".
