[New government figures released yesterday show that the number of Koreans using wireless browsers is rising sharply.]

"The number of Koreans subscribing to wireless Internet services has exceeded 15 million as at the end of November, the Ministry of Information and Communication said yesterday.

"There were 15 million Koreans using wireless Internet services at the end of last month, an increase of 1.31 million from the previous month.

"Among them, the number of those subscribing to wireless Web browsers such as WAP or Mobile Explorer grew by 1.18 million in November alone to 7.79 million, while there were 7.21 million subscribing to short message service (SMS), a service for sending messages of up to 169 characters and also allows Internet access without browsers.
