by David Braue -- "While it's been just over a year since Cable & Wireless Optus launched Australia's first commercial Wireless Application Protocol service, corporate users have remained largely disenfranchised from the wireless revolution due to the difficulties inherent in creating and delivering customised wireless content to mobile wireless users.

"This could soon change, however, as online content manager HarvestRoad gets ready to launch ConvertML, a new hosted service that automatically converts HTML content into Wireless Markup Language (WML) code suitable for delivery to WAP-enabled handsets and other mobile devices.

"Now in trials and expected to be launched commercially in February, ConvertML translates HTML content from any existing Web page into WML code, which can then be delivered to employee or subscriber mobiles without having to completely redevelop and maintain a separate wireless site as is necessary today.
