The new share issue, which will be in the Japanese market, and New York listing are aimed at helping DoCoMo pursue its ambitious overseas strategy, which has led the company to take stakes in several foreign mobile carriers this year. The new share issue plan comes amid a particularly turbulent market environment. Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei 225 stock average has lost 7.4 per cent since Monday. DoCoMo shares fell on Thursday to GBP2.1m, a 15-month closing low.
