(NYSE: MOT - news) landed a contract to supply General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network supplies to the state-owned China Mobile Communications Corp. Though financial terms were not disclosed for this deal, Motorola already has received more than US$80 million in contracts this year to supply GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) services in China."The pact calls for Motorola to deliver its GPRS high-speed mobile data network to four major Chinese cities -- Hangzhou, Chengdu, Tianjin and Beijing, China's capital -- serving about 110,000 subscribers. Once the network is complete, the subscribers will have access to the "always on, always connected" feature that has made GPRS networks so successful. "Motorola also said its Chinese-language phones that offer a Chinese touch screen are expected to be available early next year.
