by Carol O'Leary, Paris -- "Sagem SA said it won a 700 million franc ($99 million) contract from Vodafone Group Plc, a boon for Sagem, which cut its sales forecast after it overestimated demand for mobile phones.

"The telecommunications and defense company will supply Vodafone with the MC 920 model mobile phones, Vodafone said in faxed release.

"Sagem is betting on telecommunications to boost earnings as it moves away from its less profitable defense and automotive units. The company says it wants a 7 percent market share of the mobile phone market this year.
