Supercomm Asia opens for the first time this year joining the Supercomm trade show series held anuualy in both Atlanta and Mexico City. The trade show will be held in Shanghai and will provide exhibitors an opportunity to tap into China's lucrative telecommunications market.China's population of 1.3 billion people presents one of the largest telecom markets in the world. By year's end a total of 150 million telephone subscribers are expected in China with an already 85 million mobile subscribers at the end of 2000.
Supercomm Asia 2001 is sponsored jointly by China National Postal and Telecommunications Appliances Corp., the Telecommunications Industry Association and Times Publishing Group.
In conjunction with the trade show, a four-day international conference will be held developed and managed by Business Communications Review magazine and Times Publishing Limited. The conference will have four themes or tracks: Policy & Market, Wireless Communications; Broadband Networks and Network Convergence; and E-commerce and Internet. The first day of the conference will be devoted to daylong tutorials focused on the major themes. The following three days will each have a keynote address and a series of sessions focusing on important topics in each of the tracks.
Supercomm Asia 2001 is set to open Wednesday, April 25 with opening ceremonies at 10:00. It will be held at the Everbright Convention and Exibition Center in Shanghai with over 100 companies expected to participate. The show will close April 28 at 15:30.
