Sprint, Google Deal Swells Wireless Web

by Dan McDonough, Jr. -- "With 3G service just around the corner for Sprint PCS, the company is positioning itself to offer the breadth of data services that high-speed access will warrant.

"Sprint PCS (NYSE: PCS) has announced a deal with Google Inc. that will boost its wireless Web service from 130 sites to more than 1.3 billion Web pages.

"The launch of Google on the Sprint PCS Wireless Web opens the door for our customers to access the Internet information that they need, when they need it, anywhere they want on the Sprint PCS nationwide network," said SprintPCS.com vice president and general manager John Yuzdepski.

"Financial terms of the arrangement were not disclosed.
