BTexact Technologies Launches Next-Generation Network Testing Facility
Posted: 19-Aug-2001 [Source: BTexact press release]

[BT's research and technology arm opens next generation test facility.]

Adastral Park, Martlesham, U.K. -- BTexact Technologies, BT's research and technology business, today announced the opening of its independent commercial carrier-grade testing and evaluation facility for next-generation network equipment.

BTexact will provide equipment vendors and service providers with independent, rigorous testing and evaluation services previously only available within BT, using the latest testing equipment and platforms from major vendors including Agilent Technologies' scalable Router Tester protocol and performance analysis solutions.

This will enable cost-effective testing and faster deployment of next-generation networks, including carrier grade IP, MPLS (multi-protocol label switching) and optical routing technologies. Previously, companies had to buy certain equipment to carry out testing as rental or third-party testing facilities were not available in Europe and only on a limited scale elsewhere.

Initial focus will be on core network terabit and optical routing and switching, teaming expert BTexact specialists with the best testing hardware and platforms.
