DNP Develops New Data Distribution System for Cell Phones
Posted: 17-Sep-2001 [Source: AsiaBizTech]

[Users will be able to receive information on their handsets about advertised goods via DNP's new data distribution system.]

Tokyo -- "Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. said it has developed a new system for data distribution using non-contact IC tags and cell phones, in technical cooperation with NTT DoCoMo Inc.

"DNP first fabricated non-contact IC tags in the shape of cell phone straps, each of which has recorded its user's personal data. The users then are able to receive detailed information by their cell phones on advertised goods, for example on certain displays set at some train stations or shopping malls, when they hold up their cell phones with non-contact IC tags over the screens.
