Tokyo -- "The J-Phone group said it will release third-generation cellular phone handsets compatible with both the next-generation IMT-2000 and the current personal digital cellular (PDC) systems.

"At a press conference on Nov. 21 to announce the firm's financial results, Darryl E. Green, representative director and president, said he places significant importance on dual-band handsets, and the company is currently developing such phones.
