[Swisscom Mobile to provide UMTS coverage to 20% of Switzerland by the end of 2002.]

"Swisscom Mobile said that it, in cooperation with Swedish equipment maker Ericsson, has set up the first UMTS calls on its own UMTS pilot network in Bern. The tests went off without a hitch. Swisscom Mobile claims to be the first network operator in Switzerland to successfully set up connections using the new network technology.
