KDDI releases Sony Ericsson cdmaOne handset Posted: 27-Dec-2001 [Source: SonyEricsson] [The first handset produced by Sony Ericsson Mobile has been released by KDDI featuring a TFT-LCD that can display up to 65,536 colors.] Tokyo -- The Sony Ericsson joint venture released its first handset product this week through the Japanese carrier KDDI. The model C1002S clamshell design supports WAP2.0 over high speed cdmaOne. The handset weighs in at 105 grams, measures 46mm x 92mm x28mm when closed, and boasts a large (120x160 pixels) full color TFT display as well as a large diameter speaker for high quality sound reproduction. KDDI is offering the handset as a part of its EZweb service which is based on WAP2.0 (XHTML) to offer the secure communications environment needed by banking, shopping and other commercial applications.
