Posted: 01-Mar-2002 [Source: FT]

[Trading begins today on both the London and New York Stock Exchanges of NTT DoCoMo shares.]

by Robert Budden and Martin Arnold in London and Michiyo Nakamoto in Tokyo -- "Shares in NTT DoCoMo, the leading Japanese mobile phone operator, began trading on the London Stock Exchange on Friday morning in a move the company hopes will broaden its international fund raising opportunities and sustain its global expansion.

"The mobile phone operator, whose shares will also start trading in New York on Friday, said no new shares would be issued, but it said the listings would increase its global liquidity and broaden its appeal to a wider investor base.

"The shares were up more than 1 per cent at GBP14.21 in early afternoon trade in London. The American depositary shares are set to start trading in New York at 9:30am EST.
