Neomar Brings Enterprise Applications to RIM's BlackBerry 5810 Wireless Device

[Neomar announces microbrowers for RIM's 5810 Java-enabled handheld offering users real-time wireless access to business applications.]

San Francisco -- Neomar, Inc., a leading developer of mobile enterprise infrastructure software, today announced the Neomar Microbrowser for Research in Motion's (RIM) new BlackBerry 5810(tm) handheld device, enabling wireless carriers and Fortune 1000 companies to expand the range of services they provide to their users. The Microbrowser brings users of these devices secure, real-time wireless access to the applications they already use to drive their business -- for example, sales force automation, business intelligence, supply chain management, corporate portals, intranets and custom web applications.

With the release of the Microbrowser, Neomar becomes the first entrant in the emerging world of Internet-enabled, Java-based handheld devices for enterprise applications. "The BlackBerry 5810 is the first Java-based handheld device suitable for wireless enterprise applications," said Greg Nuyens, Neomar's Chief Technology Officer and VP of Engineering. "In the early days of Java, it was clear that its twin destinies would be mobile computing and the enterprise. It's gratifying to witness Neomar and RIM technologies joining to usher in a convergence of these two domains."

"The Neomar Microbrowser transforms the BlackBerry 5810 from a wireless email-only device to a portal over which the carriers' customers can interact with their enterprise applications in a mobile environment," said W.R. "Butch" Winters, CEO of Neomar. "As Fortune 1000 companies evaluate the RIM BlackBerry and the Neomar Real Mobility software suite, we are seeing enormous demand from these companies to extend critical, non-email applications to their workforce. This Neomar product release is an important component in selecting the BlackBerry as the 'corporate standard' for mobile, always-on, real-time computing."

"Wireless carriers are increasingly seeing the need to offer their customers services beyond browsing," said John Troyer, Chief Strategy Officer of Neomar. "A text message sent to my handheld is useful, but using Neomar technology to push an HTML page to my device, creates an 'actionable alert' to which I can immediately respond. For example, if I want to increase my position in a stock or make a last-minute bid at an online auction, Neomar technology provides the necessary ARPU-enhancing infrastructure. This value to a customer, enabled by Neomar, reduces churn and drives greater usage of next-generation data services."

With this announcement, Neomar remains the only company to provide client software for the entire range of BlackBerry devices. Firms standardizing on the BlackBerry platform can therefore offer their users maximum wireless functionality regardless of the BlackBerry device they use.

The new Neomar Microbrowser for the BlackBerry 5810 is an integrated component of the Neomar Real Mobility platform, a mobile enterprise infrastructure solution that extends enterprise applications for optimized performance over all leading wireless handhelds and networks. Neomar's solution allows for management of user accounts and devices, and provides end-to-end security from behind the enterprise firewall.

Availability Neomar's Real Mobility platform with support for the BlackBerry 5810 is now available for testing, and will be available for general release at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium in Atlanta on April 29. Corporate clients interested in evaluating the Real Mobility suite for the BlackBerry 5810 should contact Neomar's premium resellers, including 724 Solutions, Aether Systems, Bell Mobility, Cingular Wireless, EarthLink, Electronic Data Systems, and IBM Global Services. Wireless operators interested in field trials should contact Neomar directly.
