[BlackBerry email solution to make commercial debut in UK via Vodafone's GPRS network in June.]

Research in Motion signed an agreement with Vodafone to bring its BlackBerry wireless email solution to the UK.

The BlackBerry operates over GPRS and provides an always connected secure link to email. This solution features RIM's "push" technology that automatically forwards emails and calendar appointments wirelessly to the user's BlackBerry handheld.

Commercial launch is expected in June. Vodafone offers GPRS roaming capability across 14 European countries, allowing BlackBerry users the opportunity to access their corporate inbox while abroad.

Vodafone plans to initially offer the service with support for Microsoft Exchange with Lotus Domino to follow. Availability may be subject to change according to the Service Provider offering the service. Vodafone UK recommends customers contact their Service Provider for availability.
