J-Phone Co., Ltd. announced today it will offer two new Movie Sha-mail (video messaging) handsets from the beginning of October 2002, the J-SA51 (manufactured by Sanyo) and the J-SH52 (manufactured by Sharp). Movie Sha-mail is a service that enables users to send video clips of up to five seconds with sound as e-mail attachments.
The J-SA51 features the industry's largest built-in, one-inch STN LCD "Notification Display" and can take pictures at low light levels with its highly sensitive embedded CCD mobile camera. In addition, the J-SA51 can compress or expand ZIP files as well as send or receive them as e-mail attachments.The J-SH52 comes with new video and voice recording features compatible with SD memory cards which allow for longer recording times. The handset can also take pictures at VGA resolution (640 x 480 pixels) with its 310,000 pixel built-in CCD mobile camera. Camera functions are also greatly enhanced by a mobile light and an embedded color sub-display that can be used as a photo viewfinder.
With the addition of the J-SA51 and the J-SH52 to J-PHONE's lineup, there is now a total of six Movie Sha-mail handsets available, thereby bringing the pleasures of the Movie Sha-mail service to even greater number of individuals.
J-PHONE will continue to develop advanced mobile products and services to provide even richer communication options to individuals and businesses.

(1) Industry's largest integrated "Notification Display"
The J-SA51's one-inch STN 65,536 color CD Notification Display" is integrated into the back of the folding handset and can be used as a camera view finder as well as to display pictures of registered callers, making it easy to know who is calling without opening the handset.
(2) Highly sensitive embedded CCD mobile camera
The J-SA51 features an embedded, low-noise CCD mobile camera with 110,000 pixel resolution, allowing for photography at night or in dim indoor lighting situations. Eight consecutive shots can be taken with one shutter snap. The handset also comes packed with features making it optimal for enjoying Sha-mail and Movie Sha-mail, such as a three-step digital zoom and a "night motion mode" for clearer photography in dark lighting.
(3) Enhanced e-mail features
The J-SA51 supports ZIP files formats, making it possible for users to compress large files and expand ZIP files they receive. E-mail organization features have also been enhanced for greater convenience: in addition to inbound mail sorting, messages can be extracted by designating certain sent e-mail addresses and text phrases, and mail can be sorted according to address, sender's name, and date.

Available exclusively to J-SA51 owners, "Sanyo Keitai Planet" Internet content offers downloads for wallpaper, melodies, and character input dictionaries, such as the Japanese character entry system "Mobile Wnn (Unnu) V2" which adds predictive text input options. Kansai dialect, sports terms, and new hit song dictionaries are also scheduled for release.
