by Nancy Sherrer, Overland Park, Kan, and Santa Cruz, Calif. -- Sprint, the company that for years has delivered unmatched clarity with crystal-clear service, and LightSurf Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of technology, solutions and integrated managed services for Instant Imaging and mobile multimedia, are giving customers the ability to instantly shoot, view and send pictures nationwide with the PCS Vision Camera and select Vision-enabled PCS Phones.

The Pictures application from PCS Vision provides a fun, social way to instantly share experiences with family and friends from anywhere on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Sprint Pictures customers can easily store and manage their pictures on the Sprint Pictures Web site, designed, deployed and managed by LightSurf.

The PCS Vision Camera fits into the palm of your hand, can store up to 15 pictures, and can be purchased at Sprint stores and online for $69.99. The PCS Vision Camera is compatible with the PCS Phone by Samsung A500 and the PCS Phone by Samsung N400.

The PCS Vision Camera transforms the phone's display for instant picture previewing. Then with the touch of a button, pictures are instantly sent over the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. Customers can also upload and store their pictures on the Pictures Web site(http://www.pictures.sprintpcs.com). Pictures can be viewed, shared, modified and managed from the phone or from a computer anywhere, anytime.

PCS Vision also includes services that allow customers to use their Vision-enabled PCS Devices to check personal and corporate e-mail, play games with full-color graphics and polyphonic sounds, and browse the Internet wirelessly with speeds comparable to a home computer's dial-up connection.

"PCS Vision is about wireless you can hear and see from Sprint, and the PictureMail application by LightSurf clearly delivers on this promise by providing customers with the valuable opportunity to take, view and share pictures instantly - nationwide - with their Vision-enabled PCS Phone," said Chip Novick, vice president of consumer marketing for Sprint's PCS division.

"Americans are ready to use their mobile phones for more than just voice and text communications; they're ready for the next wave of communication which is visual," said Philippe Kahn, chairman, co-founder and CEO, LightSurf. "As with any new service, consumers will adopt it only if it's easy to understand and it improves their lives - Pictures with PCS Vision delivers on both counts."

PCS Vision Pictures is powered by a customized PictureMail application service built on the LightSurf IV Instant Imaging Platform, a comprehensive suite of scalable and secure Instant Imaging software components. LightSurf IV technology enables a seamless exchange of digital pictures and multimedia using any visual communications system or any other Internet-ready, graphics-capable wired or wireless network.
