[The PCS Connection Card Model CF2031 is the first 3C1X CDMA Compact Flash card solution certified for Sprint's Nationwide PCS Network providing connectivity for laptops and select PDAs at speeds averaging 50 to 70 Kbps.]

Overland Park, KS -- Sprint, which operates the largest all-digital, all-CDMA Third Generation (3G) wireless network in the United States, and Growell Telecom Co., Ltd. (formerly Yiso Telecom Co., Ltd.), a leading developer and manufacturer of CDMA wireless data modems, today announced the nationwide availability of the PCS Connection CardTM Model CF2031. This is the first 3G1X CDMA Compact Flash (CF) card solution certified for the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network to provide high-speed connectivity for laptops and select PDAs. The latest Vision enabled PCS Connection Card is available through Sprint Stores, Sprint business channels including the PCS direct sales force, Small Business Dealer Network and PCS Business Solutions Program, online, and at third party retailers at a suggested retail price of $229.99.

While the lightweight device provides wireless connectivity for select PDAs with a Type II CF slot, it comes with a PC Card adapter so it is also compatible with laptops and select PDAs equipped with a PC Card Type II card slot. Leveraging the power of the CDMA2000 enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network, this new Vision-Capable Device enables data speeds comparable to or higher than a standard dial-up connection.

Designed to offer customers a true mobility solution, the PCS Connection Card Model CF2031 enables seamless wireless access to the Internet, Intranet and company applications including e-mail with attachments, via laptops and PDAs at speeds averaging 50 to 70 Kbps, with peak speeds of up to 144 Kbps. In addition to wirelessly accessing mission-critical data, customers can also send and receive voice calls on the device using a hands-free earbud.

"In an increasingly mobile world, access to business information is crucial to increasing productivity, reducing costs and maintaining a competitive edge," said Phil Bowman, vice president, business marketing for the PCS division of Sprint. "Solutions like the PCS Connection Card leverage the always-on capabilities of the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network to allow mobile professionals to take their desktop with them wherever they go on our enhanced network. With the nationwide introduction of PCS Vision services, customers can wirelessly access mission critical information faster and easier than ever before where they need it most on a growing number of devices. It truly opens the door to a much more powerful PCS Clear Wireless WorkplaceSM."

The PCS Connection Card is equipped with connectivity software that guides the customer through the connection process, enabling quick and easy installation. Customers will also experience faster connection speeds with certain applications including web browsing as a result of bandwidth optimization. The compression technology is designed to provide increased data throughput of two to five times average speeds on the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network. The card is also equipped to allow automatic software updates from the Web.

"The increasing popularity of handhelds has generated demand for a compact flash connection solution," said Oh-Hyung Kwon, vice president of business development for the U.S. division of Growell. "Sprint and Growell have worked together to develop a small form factor that provides wireless data capabilities for many different mobile devices. The result - the PCS Connection Card Model CF2031 - is the smallest, yet most versatile CDMA card designed for the enhanced Sprint Nationwide PCS Network."

The PCS Connection Card Model CF2031 is designed for laptops with Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP operating systems, as well as Pocket PC 2000/2002 devices equipped with a Type II CF slot or an expansion pack with a Type II PC Card slot.

Sprint customers using a PCS Connection Card can choose a $99.99 unlimited data-only Vision plan with a one year Advantage Agreement until early 2003. PCS Vision for Laptops and PDAs plans are also available starting at $39.99 for 20 megabytes for customers with more limited data needs. These plans do not include voice minutes. Customers using the PCS Connection Card Model CF2031 for voice calls will be charged at a rate of $.20 per minute.

This new smart device is an integral part of the PCS Clear Wireless WorkplaceSM -- a diverse portfolio of products and services aimed at providing end-to-end, customized solutions for business customers that want to wirelessly extend their company applications to the mobile workforce. Designed to address specific business needs, the PCS Clear Wireless Workplace helps companies increase productivity, enhance customer satisfaction, reduce costs and create a competitive advantage.
