Beijing -- Legend Group Limited today signed an agreement with the world famous handheld operating system supplier, PalmSource Inc. in Beijing. Legend will roll out Legend Pam168 which adopts the Palm operating system ("Palm OS") and the new product will make its official debut in January next year.

According to the agreement, Legend will develop, manufacture and roll out Chinese version handheld devices which adopt Palm OS platform. With the use of Palm OS, the new Legend Pam168 provides customers and enterprises in China with a PDA product that embodies versatile applications.

Yang Yuanqing, President and CEO of Legend said, "Since marching into the handheld device market, Legend's product sales has grown rapidly, occupying the top three sales position in China since last year. In view of the transformation towards the development of wireless communications and multi-media entertainment in China's handheld device market, Legend initiated cooperation with PalmSource to roll out user-friendly Chinese version Palm OS products, which helps propels the rapid development of the handheld device market."

At present, Palm OS is the most prevalent operating system in the world for pocket PCs. Palm OS can cater for a large number of software, including those for office work, games, and various kinds of entertainment. It currently has more than 15,000 Palm Powered software programs, far exceeding compatible products in the market by six times.

David Nagel, CEO of PalmSource said, "With sharp edges in sales network and strong capabilities in developing new products, Legend is undoubtedly an ideal partner for PalmSource in China market. Leveraging the strengths of our two companies, more business opportunities are bound to appear, which will further stimulate market growth."

Yang Yuanqing concluded, "Looking forward, Legend will continue to sharpen its handheld device core technologies in order to target the needs of different customers and develop more user-friendly PDA products with rich applications for them."
