Samsung Enters Flash Memory Market in US

Irvine, CA -- Samsung, a worldwide digital information technology and consumer electronics leader, announces a full suite of flash data storage products targeted to consumers who want to boost the memory of their digital cameras, digital audio players, PDAs, and cell phones. Samsung's flash memory offerings include: CompactFlash cards, SmartMedia cards, MultiMedia cards, Secure Digital cards and USB flash drives. Samsung will offer 128MB capacity product for all four standards starting in May 2003 at retail outlets nationwide. Higher capacity products will be launched throughout 2003.

Flash memory is a chip technology used to store data and applications in many of today's most popular consumer electronics products such as digital cameras, digital audio players, PDAs and cell phones. Samsung's powerful lineup of flash memory products enables consumers to increase the storage capacity of their favorite gadgets, allowing them to fully enjoy the benefits and advantages of today's most popular tech devices.

The widely adopted CompactFlash card is currently the most popular card type for digital cameras, PDAs and other portable devices and supports a variety of capacities.
