[Audiovox introduces the CDM-9900 series of handsets featuring built-in video cameras using MPEG4 moving picture technology that records up to 15 seconds of streaming video and audio.]

Las Vegas -- Audiovox Communications Corporation (ACC) is raising the bar in the wireless industry, today, with the introduction of the first series of wireless handsets with video capabilities -- the CDM-9900 series. The handsets were introduces at the recent CTIA Wireless IT and Entertainment show in Las Vegas.

"The CDM-9900 and 9950 are the first handsets to offer both video and still photography in the same unit device," said ACC President and CEO, Philip Christopher. "We accomplished this by using state-of-the-artMPEG4 moving picture technology."

A subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation and a technology leader in CDMA (code division multiple access) handsets, ACC's CDM-9900 series phones (CDM-9900/9950) are high-end, CDMA2000 1X-capable handsets that are equipped with built-in digital video, audio and still photo recording capabilities. ACC's CDM-9900 series phones can record up to 15 seconds of streaming video and audio that can be transmitted, via wireless email, to personal computers, web-capable PDAs and Pocket PCs as well as other CDM-9900 series devices.

Besides being a videographic and communications marvel, ACC's fully equipped CDM-9900 seriesphones also feature a CCD/VGA camera with 4X digital and 2X telescopic zooms for taking still photos. Wireless aficionados can use the devices' 260K-full-color, 310/350-pixel, primary display, as a range finder, to make sure that they capture their most memorable momentson video, or as a snap shot. They can then immediately e-mail them to relatives, friends and business associates who'll appreciate them the most.

All CDM-9900series phones are tri-mode phones(800 MHz Amps/CDMA, 1900 MHz PCS), equipped with a MSM6100 chipset, CDMA2000 1X capabilities and BREW/Java compatibility (carrier system dependent). They can send and receive messages as fast as 144 Kbps. The phones feature 2-way short message service, photo mail and downloadable ringtones and games (all systemdependent). The handsets have dual LCD, full-color displays -- a 1-inch outer display, featuring 65K STN color, and a large, 2.2-inch, primary, interior QVGA display, providing 260K Poly-Silicon TFT color.

ACC's CDM-9900/9950 video camera phones are also equipped with a sub-LCD slot that lets users preview their self-portrait, or other intended photo, before 'snapping' the camera's 'shutter.' A built-in self-timer enables the user to get into his/her own photo, as well.

The CDM-9900/9950 phones' video light also serves as a safety feature. More than a flash attachment for taking digital images, it can also be used as a portable flashlight, if needed, since it is not reliant upon other camera features.

"Our new CDM-9900 series is a revolution in mobile communications technology. With its digital camcorder and still-photo capabilities, this feature-rich phone will be an asset to users for both personal and business applications," said Mr. Christopher. "With the launch of this revolutionaryhandset, Audiovox re-asserts its commitment to meet the growing needs of its carrier customers, and their subscribers, alike, reinforcing our role as a leader in CDMA technology."
