Excellence in the Series 60 Platform Community

[T-Mobile, Psiloc, Noumena, mobileways.de, and Symbian are recognized for their Series 60 platform contributions.]

Five companies have been recognized for their excellence in the Series 60 Platform Community Awards 2003. Originally 24 companies were nominated in five categories representing different types of products and services created for the Series 60 Platform. The awards were handed out at an exclusive gala at the Hotel Negresco in Nice on Tuesday, October 28.

The Series 60 Community Award 2003 Categories and Winners include:

Most Innovative Service - t-zones from T-Mobile - for creating a successful service portal that best utilizes the rich color interface and open execution environment of the Series 60 Platform.

Most Innovative Application - IR Remote from Psiloc - for the most innovative overall application, also keeping in mind the other innovative applications the company has, their pioneering, and the importance of the application.

Most Innovative Multimedia Application - MGS Karting from Noumena - for the most innovative application that takes full advantage of the screen size, color, and interactivity of the Series 60 Platform, in a compelling game.

Most Innovative Accessory - Remote S60 from mobileways.de - for the most innovative add-on for Series 60 devices that shows phone-device connectivity.

Evangelist Award - My-Symbian from Symbian - for being the company with the most impact on the public's access to information on the Series 60 market and ecosystem.

"The jury, consisting of the licensees of the Series 60 platform and members from Nokia Mobile Software, is pleased with the broad variety and high quality of the products and services created by all the nominees," said Timo Poikolainen, Vice President, Marketing, Nokia Mobile Software. "The example set by the Award winners will further encourage the whole Series 60 Platform Community to design and deliver world-class solutions for the platform and help accelerate the growth of the mobile services ecosystem."

"This award is a great honour for T-Mobile and recognizes our passion for delivering outstanding services to the more than 3.5 million regular users of t-zones," comments Nikesh Arora, Chief Marketing Officer at T-Mobile. "Nokia's devices based on the Series 60 Platform have achieved some of the highest number of downloads from t-zones, as well as contributed to the uptake and usage of T-Mobile's mobile data products."
