Shanghai -- "NEC Corp announced on October 28 that it will soon release a 10mm-thick, credit card-sized mobile phone called the N900.

NEC senior vice president Tsutomu Nakamura announcing small mobile phone 'N900' The announcement was made in Shanghai by Tsutomu Nakamura, senior vice president of NEC. He was visiting Shanghai to announce new products for the Chinese market. Specifically, Nakamura showed a product under development.

NEC plans to release the N900 GSM handset, initially in China, and later in Southeast Asia and Europe. Nakamura said the new product will be released "soon." He has not yet disclosed details of the product."
