Palo Alto -- Danger and Cable & Wireless today announced the availability of the Cable & Wireless hiptop in the Cayman Islands. The hiptop is a wireless all-in-one device that combines a fully featured mobile phone with a variety of high-speed data communication applications, including an HTML Web browser, an embedded email account, AOL Instant Messenger(TM), a personal organizer, games and other features -- all viewable on a crisp 65,000 color display with a full QWERTY keyboard for data entry.

Cable & Wireless is the first operator to launch a GSM/GPRS network in the Caribbean basin. The company selected the hiptop device to showcase its new data network and differentiate its retail offerings for customers in this region.

"The alliance with Danger reinforces our commitment to provide the world's best technology in the Caribbean," said Tim Adam, General Manager of Cable & Wireless in the Cayman Islands. "Our customers will receive an industry-recognized solution that delivers always-on Internet and phone capabilities in a compact, easy-to-use device."

"We are pleased to launch the hiptop device with Cable & Wireless, and believe that this solution will enable them to showcase their new data network in the Caribbean," said Hank Nothhaft, chairman and CEO of Danger.

The launch of the Cable & Wireless hiptop marks Danger's sixth carrier partnership. Danger is now delivering its wireless solution through operators in Germany, Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.

Cable & Wireless hiptop users will be able to seamlessly connect to Cable & Wireless' network, bringing the benefits of voice telephony, instant messaging, push email (with attachments), HTML Web browsing, organizer functionality, a digital camera accessory, phone text messaging and gaming. The device will be available for $299 CI ($366 US) with service pricing offering unlimited data access for $39 CI ($47 US).
