Motorola, Inc. today introduced Mobile PhoneTools 2.0, an innovative software solution that links a Motorola mobile phone and PC for a powerful combination to offer consumers more options for communicating and sharing information efficiently and effectively, whether in the office, at home or on-the-go. Motorola's Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 is compatible with the newly announced Motorola V300, and will be compatible with most future Motorola mobile phone models. The enhanced version of Motorola's original Mobile PhoneTools offers new must-have features, such as a synchronization set-up wizard and the capability to edit and transfer images and ringtones between a PC and compatible mobile phone. With the introduction of Mobile PhoneTools 2.0, Motorola continues its commitment to delivering solutions that make life easier for consumers by allowing them to stay connected to coworkers, family, and friends while on-the-go.

Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 allows users to easily adapt to a truly mobile lifestyle by giving them the ability to access the Internet, send and receive text messages and check e-mail from a laptop computer by using their Motorola wireless phone as a modem.* Users can connect their mobile phone and laptop via a compatible mini-USB or USB cable and easily transfer appointment schedules, images, ringtones and more with just the click of the mouse. When PC users log onto Mobile PhoneTools 2.0, a "look alike" of their Motorola handset appears on the PC screen along with a toolbar that displays the most commonly used features of the phone. The familiar layout of their handset, combined with Mobile PhoneTools(r) integrated set-up wizard makes synchronization quick and easy, by providing step-by-step instructions for organizing contacts, creating calendars, tracking appointments and checking e-mail.

"Motorola's Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 makes mobile efficiency, connectivity and entertainment solutions easier than before," said Sue Fullman, corporate vice president for Motorola's Personal Communications Sector. "With easy to use synchronization, as well as the ability to share and edit images and ring tones, Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 is the perfect solution for road warriors and multi-media mavens who demand access to creative and entertaining features, as well as data management capabilities, on their mobile phones."

Motorola's Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 provides users with an outlet for creative expression via Multimedia Message Service (MMS). Users can send text messages complete with wallpaper, icons and ringtones. And, with the new Motorola V300, users can snap a photo and use the software's photo editing capabilities to send colorful photo collages to compatible phones and PCs. Additionally, Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 provides users of Motorola mobile phones with Bluetooth(r) wireless technology two ways to use the technology. Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 features integrated Bluetooth software and a compatible set-up wizard that controls the installation and walks users step-by-step through setting up a wireless connection between their Bluetooth wireless technology enabled PC and Motorola mobile phone. And, for users without a Bluetooth wireless technology enabled PC, Motorola offers Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 complete with a Motorola Bluetooth USB PC adapter, which connects to the USB port on a PC allowing users to communicate wirelessly with their compatible Motorola phone.

For the globetrotting professional, Motorola's Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 is equipped with 16 international languages and comes with pre-configured data network settings for many wireless data operators and supports Outlook 97/98/2000/2002, Outlook Express and Lotus Notes.

Mobile PhoneTools Version 2.0 is expected to be available in early December at www.motorola.com/shop as a mini-USB kit for $49.99, USB kit for $59.99, Bluetooth USB adapter kit for $79.99 or CD only for $29.99. Users with Motorola Mobile PhoneTools 1.0 can receive free upgrades to Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 at no additional charge. Mobile PhoneTools Version 2.0 is compatible with the newly announced Motorola V300 and most future Motorola mobile phone models.
