Bellevue, WA -- Comcast Cable and T-Mobile USA, Inc. today announced a strategic marketing alliance to offer the T-Mobile HotSpot Wi-Fi Internet service to Comcast's nearly five million high-speed Internet customers. With today's announcement, Comcast customers can experience the convenience, reliability and value of a T-Mobile wireless broadband connection when they're away from home, via Wi-Fi, at the more than 4,000 T-Mobile HotSpot locations nationwide. As part of this strategic marketing alliance, Comcast high-speed Internet customers will receive a special offer when they sign up for T-Mobile HotSpot through their Comcast portal homepage.
Comcast customers who subscribe to the T-Mobile HotSpot service can surf the Web, check email or view streaming media at wireless broadband speeds with a Wi-Fi enabled laptop or PDA at T-Mobile HotSpot locations. T-Mobile operates the largest commercial Wi-Fi network of its kind in the U.S. and Comcast is the nation's largest provider of high-speed Internet service.
"Whether at home or on the go, we believe Comcast customers will have access to the very best in broadband," said Greg Butz, senior vice president of Marketing and Business Development for Comcast High-Speed Internet. "Our relationship with a premier provider like T-Mobile offers our customers the convenience and ease of connecting to the nation's largest public Wi-Fi network. At Comcast, we're committed to providing innovative products and services at a great value. This alliance reinforces that promise for our existing customers and offers a compelling new incentive to sign up for high-speed Internet service for consumers who are on the move and want to stay in touch."
"Since launching T-Mobile HotSpot service, we've been focused on providing a great experience for our customers with a convenient, simple to use service that's consistent with our Get More promise. We've made tremendous progress and continue to lead the industry in making wireless broadband a reality for customers - today," said Joe Sims, vice president and general manager of T-Mobile HotSpot. "Our alliance with Comcast helps us reach 'broadband savvy' customers with relevant and compelling options to help them Get More from the Internet in all the places they already go."
To celebrate the alliance, which begins today, Comcast and T-Mobile are making a special introductory offer available to Comcast customers. Customers who sign up for one T-Mobile HotSpot DayPass for $9.99 will receive an additional DayPass each month at no charge through December 31, 2004.*
