Mobistar launches the Microsoft Windows-Powered SPV E200
Posted: 10-Feb-2004 [Source: Mobistar]

[The Mobistar SPV E200 smartphone debuts offering sound, photo and video and utilizing the Windows Mobile 2003 operating system.]

Belgium -- Mobistar and Microsoft jointly present the MS Windows-powered Mobistar SPV (Sound-Photo-Video) E200. Inspired by the "Windows Mobile 2003" software, the SPV E200 comes with a high-resolution colour screen, a simple user interface and a wide range of services. Mobistar is the first operator in Belgium to launch a mobile phone of its own brand. This revolutionary telephone is the result of the international synergies nurtured by the Orange Group and is completely in line with the group's strategy.

The SPV E200 is an optimal tool for business and pleasure. It allows the user to gain access to his company's data or to his own personal data at any time, in any place. It can be used by the whole family or among friends to share still pictures or to exchange video sequences, to send SMS or MMS, to read and send e-mails, to surf on the Internet, to play (on-line or off-line) and to listen to MIDI, WMA or MP3 files using stereo earphones or directly via the phone itself.

Furthermore, the SPV E200 boasts all the features of a PC: view MS PowerPoint presentations, consult your MS Outlook calendar, talk on MSN and access exclusive and innovative Mobistar services such as the traffic news in video streaming. Via the docking cradle and the Microsoft activeSync programme, the user can synchronise services such as e-mail, MS Outlook contacts and the calendar of his SPV E200 with those of his Windows PC which he is already familiar with, either "wire-free" via the infrared port or even via GPRS.

Furthermore, the Bluetooth(tm) wireless connection technology that is integrated into the SPV E200 gives it the added advantage of being able to connect a series of wireless accessories such as a printer, a PC, an earphone or a car kit.

The SPV E200 comes with two unique integrated features: on the one hand, it gives the user the possibility of saving his/her contacts, his/her calendar and personal files on the Mobistar network, which is a guarantee for more security. Moreover, it allows him to restore his/her data at all times. On the other hand, the user can download or update new applications while on the move.

The Mobistar SPV E200 is available as from today in the Mobistar points of sale.

Mobistar has put together an exclusive "Smartpack" for the one-off price of 499 euros. In addition to the SPV E200, it contains a earphone, an e-Mobile kit, an installation CD-ROM and an 8 MB memory card.

The Mobistar mobile phone is supplied with a docking cradle that serves both as a charger and as a support to synchronise data with the PC.
