[Austria's ONE GmBh network subscribers to have access to video and audio clips on their mobile phones via "ONE Video" service offering replay function for viewing clips several times without having to pay again.]
Siemens mobile has implemented m.traction Media FrameWork, its overall solution for streaming audio and video data, in the network of ONE GmbH. This Siemens project included the seamless integration of the mobile media platform from PacketVideo Network Solutions at Austria's third largest mobile provider. From now on, its customers can call up video and audio clips on their mobile phones and profit from a highlight that is unique worldwide in the mobile communication market: a replay function makes it possible to view video clips several times within a defined time period, without having to pay again.
The new service "ONE Video" can be called up easily with multimedia-capable, mobile devices via the special user interface "ONE Smile" developed by ONE. The menu item "News" offers contents, among others, from the TV station ORF, sports channels, and from the Financial Times and Handelsblatt. Multimedia news, weather information, and soccer video clips from Germany and abroad are available to mobile phone users at the push of a button. In addition, the implementation of a subscription function gives users the option for automatic provision of the desired videos.
"Together with our partners Siemens and PacketVideo Network Solutions, we succeeded in integrating the streaming solution in our network within an extremely short period of only 20 weeks. This meant that the new audio and video services were ready on time for the launch of the new user interface ONE Smile, which was celebrated on the 5th anniversary of ONE", explained Florian Pollack, head of ONE Mobile Living.
