[Gunslingers(tm) to launch on SingTel offering location-based mass multi-player mobile gaming. ]

Singapore -- Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) will launch Asia's first location-based mass multiplayer mobile game on 8 March 2004. Gunslingers(tm) is a mobile 'shoot-em-up' game where players can locate nearby opponents for a challenge.

SingTel's postpaid mobile customers can download the game by dialing *480. They can then play either an SMS or Java(tm) version of the game using selected Java(tm)-enabled mobile phones. Players can earn virtual cash to exchange for 'armours' and 'weapons' by completing missions. Points from winning against other players can be exchanged for prizes such as mobile handsets.

Gunslingers(tm) is developed by Mikoishi, a Singapore entertainment software company which produces mass multiplayer mobile games, and lifestyle and messaging products for mobile networks and handsets.
