Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications today introduces the T237 mobile phone for the American market. It is a colour screen GSM/GPRS handset that combines the essential features consumers desire most, while offering a fun, easy-to-use, compact design. The Sony Ericsson T237 packs picture messaging, downloadable gaming, Internet connectivity and simple menu navigation into a lightweight and affordable mobile phone experience.
Whether a first-time buyer or seasoned pro, the T237 makes it easy for users to stay connected with friends and family and share the fun through photo messaging. With the Sony Ericsson CommuniCam MCA-30 snap-on accessory, consumers can capture, view or send their images to a PC or a compatible mobile phone. The images can also be saved in the phonebook for customized Picture Caller ID. In addition, consumers can choose ringtones from the several embedded polyphonic tones, or take personalization one step further by creating different ringtones with the iMelody MIDI composer.
Images and games on the T237 are coming to life by the 4,096 colour-screen, 32-tone polyphonic sound and vibrating force feedback. By connecting to the Internet with the phone's WAP browser, users can download games and challenge other online players.
For on-the-go users, the T237 supports voice activated dialling and phonebook and calendar PC synchronization. The phone can be combined with the Stereo FM Radio Handsfree HPR-20 to stay in tune with music and news. In addition, the T237 has speakerphone functionality when hands free call handling is essential.
The T237 in Blade Grey is a dual band 850/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS handset and will be commercially available in Q2 2004 in the Americas. The CommuniCam MCA-30 and Stereo FM Radio Handsfree HPR-20 accessories are sold separately and are available now.
