[Vodafone K.K. announces the launch of the Sharp V602SH with a 'Swivel Style' design for capturing pictures and video and is the world's first camera handset to offer an optical zoom (2x optical zoom, 40x digital zoom).]
Tokyo -- Vodafone K.K. announced today that starting with the Kanto-Koshin region on July 2, it will begin offering the V602SH by Sharp, featuring the world's first mobile embedded camera with an optical zoom.
Combined with its optical capable high-specification 2.02 megapixel autofocus CCD camera, the V602SH approaches the ease-of-use of true digital cameras without compromising the size and functionality of current mobile handsets. To achieve this, the V602SH uses a 'Swivel Style' design that allows the LCD screen to be reversed 180 degress. The handsetr can also capture or play high-quality video at a maximum QVGA size (320 x 240 pixels) at 15 frames per second. By connecting the handset to a TV, customers can also enjoy viewing their photos and video on a larger screen.
The V602SH is the first 2G handset in Japan capable of playing Chaku-uta(r) ringsongs and also supports a multitude of new features and services such as Movie Mask facial motion capture technology, Keitai Kraoke V-kara which enables customers to enjoy karaoke by connecting to a TV, and 256K Appli Ver. 2 (JavaTM applications) for high-speed mobile games. Vodafone K.K. will offer a range of new content related to these services to coincide with the sale of the V602SH.
