[The Nokia 6585 now available through Bell Mobility Canada features a stereo FM radio, color display, Java(tm) technology, a 128 x 128 pixel color display, memo recorder, voice command recognition and Chinese language support.]

Nokia and Bell Mobility today announced the availability of the Nokia 6585 mobile phone, a 3.1-ounce wireless handset. The latest addition to Nokia's growing CDMA line-up, the Nokia 6585 handset is the only handset in Bell's line-up to offer a stereo FM radio and Chinese language support.

With a full suite of customizable features, the Nokia 6585 mobile phone allows users to personalize their handset to best suit their personalities and lifestyles. For example, with the range of user-changeable Xpress-on(TM) covers available in the latest colours and designs and a selection of on-screen colour schemes, Nokia 6585 users can coordinate their phone to match their own personal styles.

They can also showcase their individual taste in music by downloading the improved polyphonic MIDI ring tones with 16 individual sound channels. Java(TM) technology also allows users to download applications that suit them best - from productivity applications to organizing a busy schedule, to action games for downtime - all java applications take advantage of the 128 x 128 pixel full-colour display.

Designed with the individual needs of consumers in mind, the Nokia 6585 appeals to those looking to benefit from advanced customization and wireless features, downloadable applications, and built-in speakerphone and FM radio.

Chris Shannon, Director of Hardware Marketing, Bell Canada adds, "This mobile phone also has a GPS chip, to facilitate our Location Based Services such as roadside assistance (number sign)RESCUE and Map Me."

Whether users access data services by using the built-in mobile Internet browser, via a PC connection over infrared, or with the optional USB cable, the Nokia 6585 phone features Nokia's own CDMA2000 1X chipset for reliable access to high-speed wireless networks, such as Bell Mobility's digital 1X network.

The Nokia 6585 also includes support for a variety of text and visual messaging methods. The device also includes a memo recorder with up to three minutes of recording time, voice command recognition and calendar with monthly view, reminders and notes. The Nokia 6585 handset combines the latest technology with Nokia's easy-to-use interface and with its multiple customization options, makes using new mobile services simple.

The Nokia 6585 handset is available exclusively at Bell Mobility for $149 with a three-year service agreement.
