World's First, Smallest and Lightest, Global Locator Phone -- Wherifone G550
Posted: 25-Oct-2004 [Source: Wherify Wireless]

[The Wherifone G550 focuses on security needs of individuals, physical assets and pets by allowing them to be easily tracked and located.]

Redwood Shores, Calif. -- Wherify Wireless, Inc. plans to begin manufacturing the Wherifone G550(R) this year for international distribution, followed by additional location-based products for valuable assets, cargo, vehicles, and pets.

Through the convergence of Global Positioning System (GPS) and digital wireless technology - along with Wherify's patented Global Wide Area Reference Network (GWARN) - the Wherifone G550 offers parents, family members and business people peace of mind knowing they can locate loved ones or valuable property, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The slim and lightweight Wherifone G550 can fit almost anywhere...from a backpack, to a purse, to a coat or pants pocket, to the family car. In addition to the ability to locate or make incoming and outgoing calls, the Wherifone G550 even provides a child or adult a new level of security knowing they can also request a 911 emergency response at the touch of a button.

The Wherifone G550 is the first consumer electronic device to combine both GPS location capability with a simple to use speaker- phone. The Wherifone's G550 simple design is a perfect "Starter" phone for children under 13 yrs old and adults over 65 yrs. Pre-programmable buttons provide for the ability to easily press (1 for Mom, 2 for Dad) for children and for adults (1 for spouse, 2 for son or daughter, etc.). In addition to the ability to locate or make incoming and outgoing calls, the Wherifone G550 even gives a child or adult carrying it a new level of security knowing they can also request a 911 emergency response at the touch of button.

The Wherifone G550 is supported by Wherify's Location Service Center, which can provide location capability on both street maps and aerial photographs via the web or phone. This patented GPS technology is the only Global Location System that generates "locates" within feet and inside most homes and vehicles -- with out line of sight. This new phone also provides the technology base for a number of associated future products addressing not only the security of individuals but also physical assets and pets.

Demonstration and test units will be available by the end of the year with full production quantities available in the first quarter of 2005. It is anticipated that this new Locator phone will retail for less than $150.00 with monthly service plans starting as low as $14.95
