Rogers Wireless announces the BlackBerry 7100r

[New BlackBerry 7100r GSM/GPRS quad-band to be launched in Canada by Rogers Wireless in the coming weeks featuring Bluetooth, polyphonic ring tones, innovative SureType keyboard, 65,000 color display, and BlackBerry's always-on email connectivity.]

Toronto, ON -- Research In Motion (RIM) and Rogers Wireless introduced the BlackBerry 7100r(tm) in Canada. The BlackBerry 7100r is expected to be widely available from Rogers Wireless in the coming weeks.

Product Details:

Display: Large, bright, high resolution LCD colour screen. Easy-to-use text-based home screen and menus.

Features: Complete wireless phone features

Speakerphone: conference calling convenience

SureType technology: The SureType keyboard design incorporates large, optimally placed keys that allow one-handed or two-handed operation. Each key contains a maximum of two letters and the letters are aligned in a standard QWERTY layout. The keyboard works in conjunction with a sophisticated software system that incorporates a large word database (approximately 35,000 words initially, plus the user's address book), linguistic intelligence and advanced learning capabilities to automatically interpret keystrokes and recognize words with a high degree of accuracy.

Polyphonic ring tunes: built-in ring tunes

BlackBerry e-mail: send and receive e-mail / view attachments / integrate existing e-mail accounts with BlackBerry Web Client or BlackBerry Enterprise Server
