Through the third generation of the Mobile Digital Assistant (MDA), T-Mobile Austria is offering the first ever WLAN-capable variant of this device. This means that the MDA III can be used at more than 8000 T-Mobile hotspots and those of T-Mobile roaming partners.
A new feature of the MDA III is an extendable complete keyboard, which is supplied in addition to the pen. This makes it easier for MDA users to enter large volumes of text, rather like typing an e-mail or sending a text message or MMS. Additional controls include the 5-way navigation button and the eight function keys. Virtually any application -- be it Pocket Word, calendar, web browser or camera -- can be launched at the touch of a button.
The triband-capable MDA III also features an integrated VGA camera and colour display with more than 65 000 colours and is fitted with a built-in video and music player. Thanks to T-Mobile's strategic partnership with Microsoft, the new MDA is also equipped with the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. In addition to the standard features of text messaging, MMS and e-mail, users now also have the opportunity to send and receive messages and documents in fax form. The power of the rechargeable battery has been enhanced by 25% compared with the previous model. As you would expect, the device also features a USB port and infrared interface, while Bluetooth allows wireless communication with other devices. The display can also be adjusted to landscape format for more convenient surfing.
