"With MP3 features becoming mainstream in the latest handset models, mobile-phone operators are competing to secure an early edge in the nascent market by strengthening their networks to accommodate online music distribution.

LG Telecom Ltd., the smallest of Korea's three mobile-phone carriers, unleashed its digital music portal Music-On (www.music-on.co.kr) on Dec. 1, allowing subscribers to download music files to their desktop or handset while also providing video and audio streaming services."
