[New Motorola MPx220 Smartphone running Microsoft Windows Mobile OS is a quad-band world phone featuring Bluetooth, a 1.2 megapixel camera, Mini-SD card slot, and a Windows Media Player.]

Atlanta -- Cingular customers now have the ability to access some of the most popular computer applications from the palm of their hand -- whether traveling across America or in dozens of countries around the world.

The Motorola MPx220, exclusively available from Cingular, is the company's newest smartphone that uses the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. The quad-band world phone (850/900/1800/1900) gives customers the ability to access Microsoft Outlook applications such as e-mail (with attachment viewing), contacts and calendar information, and comes equipped with many enhanced features such as Bluetooth, an integrated 1.2 megapixel camera, Mini SD card slot capable of adding a 512MB memory card and a Windows Media Player, allowing customers to enjoy music and video playback

In addition to enabling access to business applications, the new Motorola MPx220 uses Cingular's ALLOVER(SM) network, the largest digital voice and data network in the country. Customers can use the ALLOVER network to access the full range of Cingular's Media Net data services, including text and video messaging, multimedia applications, downloadable ringtones, graphics and photos, a variety of mobile games and Cingular's Xpress Mail suite, offering access to corporate and personal email.

The Motorola MPx220 should be especially appealing to mobile professionals. The smartphone eliminates the need to carry a PDA and wireless phone, thereby reducing the expense associated with enabling a mobile workforce. For businesses that operate internationally, the Motorola MPx220 provides voice and data services in dozens of countries around the world. Additional features for business include up to nine e-mail boxes supporting POP3 and IMAP4 mail.

Pricing and Availability

Cingular Wireless customers can purchase the Motorola MPx220 at all Cingular retail outlets, online and through its Business Markets Group. The MPx220 is available for $299.99 with a two-year contract and $349.99 with a one-year contract. Cingular's ALLOVER network monthly voice plans start at $39.99 and offer options such as Rollover Minutes, free nights and weekends and free mobile-to-mobile calling. As an add-on, the company's PDA Connect rate plans enable wireless internet access for $29.99 which includes 5 MB data for email and web browsing or $39.99 which includes unlimited data.
