Las Vegas -- Enfora L.P., a leader in enabling GSM/GPRS and 802.11 wireless data solutions announced the development of an important new accessory for palmOne, Inc.'s TreoTM, 600.
Enfora L.P. will provide a Wi-Fi sled product for the Treo 600. By incorporating its own long-life battery, providing 3 hours of typical use with a 5-day standby time, the Enfora Wi-Fi Sled provides all the necessary functionality to connect the Treo 600 smartphone to an 802.11 network without draining the smartphone's battery.
Jim Schwabe, General Manager, Accessory Solutions, stated, "Enfora has provided a very important value-add for palmOne by manufacturing quality wireless accessories for our handhelds. We are excited that they are now extending their expertise to our Treo 600 smartphone with a new solution that will allow our Treo customers to have Wi-Fi access while sending and receiving voice calls."
Price and availability
The Enfora Wi-Fi Sled for the Treo 600 is expected to be available for purchase at Enfora reseller websites, store.palmOne.com, www.mobileplanet.com and www.amazon.com etc. in early February, for a suggested retail price of $149. Enfora also plans to support future Treo 650 smartphones.
